2. What Personal Data We Collect
Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:

- Booking details — pickup address, destination, date and time, flight or train number (where provided), number of passengers, luggage requirements, special requests (e.g. child seats)
- Payment information — for card, Apple Pay, and Google Pay payments, this is processed by Stripe. For PayPal payments (including PayPal, Pay Later, and Venmo where offered), this is processed by PayPal. For direct bank transfer, your bank’s own details apply and no card data is collected by us. For “pay in car,” payment is taken directly by your driver and is not processed online. Transito does not store full card details in any case.
- Communications — records of calls, emails, WhatsApp messages, or website enquiries you send us
- Website usage data — collected automatically when you visit our website, including IP address, browser type, pages visited, and referring site, via the tools listed in Section 6

4. Who We Share Your Data With
We share personal data only where necessary to provide our service:
- Our drivers, so they can carry out your booked journey (name, contact number, pickup/destination details)
- Our payment processors: Stripe, for card, Apple Pay, and Google Pay payments; PayPal, for PayPal, Pay Later, and Venmo payments
- Our booking/website software providers, who host and operate our booking system on our behalf
- Analytics and communications tools, listed in Section 6, where you have consented to their use
- Regulatory or legal authorities, where we are required to do so by law, or to protect our legal rights
We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
5. International Data Transfers
Where we use services that store or process data outside the UK, we rely on the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, or equivalent standard contractual clauses, as an approved safeguard under UK GDPR. This currently applies to:
- Google Analytics (see Section 6)
- Stripe, our card/Apple Pay/Google Pay payment processor
- PayPal, for PayPal, Pay Later, and Venmo payments
6. Cookies and Similar Technologies
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to:
- Operate essential website functions (e.g. our booking form)
- Understand how visitors use our website, so we can improve it
- Measure the effectiveness of our marketing, where applicable
Tools currently in use on our website:
- Google Tag Manager (container ID GTM-NW46NL95), used to manage the tag below
- Google Analytics 4 (property ID G-BT8WG2F33Y), used to understand how visitors use our website. This includes:
- General page view and site usage data
- Recording when a visitor clicks our phone number
- Recording when a visitor clicks our WhatsApp number
- Recording when a visitor views our vehicle selection page (used to understand booking interest)
Google Analytics data is processed by Google. Where this involves transferring data outside the UK, this is covered by Google’s participation in the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, which provides an approved safeguard for such transfers under UK GDPR.
We do not use any advertising pixels (e.g. Meta/Facebook Pixel, Google Ads remarketing), heatmap or session-recording tools (e.g. Hotjar), or CRM/marketing platforms (e.g. Salesforce, Mixpanel) on our website.
- Google Places / Google reviews display, used to show customer reviews on our website (via a review-display plugin) — this reads publicly available Google review data and does not itself set tracking cookies on visitors
- Booking and quote system, used to power our instant quote and booking tool
You can control cookies through your browser settings, and where required by law, through a cookie consent banner on our website. Disabling some cookies may affect how parts of the website function.
7. How Long We Keep Your Data
We keep personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including:
- Booking and customer records: for e.g. 6 years, to meet our accounting and tax obligations
- Marketing consent records: until you unsubscribe or withdraw consent
- Website usage data: for e.g. 26 months, in line with standard analytics retention

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- Be informed about how we use your data (this policy)
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Rectification of inaccurate or incomplete data
- Erasure of your data, in certain circumstances
- Restrict how we use your data, in certain circumstances
- Object to processing based on our legitimate interests or for direct marketing
- Data portability, to receive your data in a portable format
- Withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent

Our services are not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
